DIY Candle with Essential Oils

I am a candle lover! So much that I actually used to be a candle distributor a few years back. Once I started my journey for a healthier lifestyle I decided that my favorite holiday candles (from that one store) had to be no more. After looking into it, there are so many things in candles that are emitted into the air for you to breathe in that you shouldn't be breathing in (nor should your little ones!) I have found some great soy candles that I do love but thought I'd make one for myself using some of my favorite essential oils.

I picked up some soy wax and soy wicks from a local craft store and had a cute empty jar from and old Anthro candle.  I decided I'm ready for fall so went for a fall scent.

I added 6 drops of each
Black Spruce
Cinnamon Bark

The first thing you do is add the wax pieces to the jar and microwave it for 1-2 minute increments. (You could also use the oven if you choose) As the wax melts you need to add more.  Once the jar was full and the wax was completely melted, I took the jar out of the microwave and added my oils and set the wick in.  Once it sets it's ready to burn!

This was such an easy DIY I'll be making a lot more..and pretty cost effective too! You would want to adjust the oils for the sizing of the jar though! Enjoy!

Purification & Lemon Household Cleaner

I have been mixing and experimenting with my oils a lot lately and have come across this blend which I LOVE for my bathroom and kitchen! It smells so clean and fresh and leaves everything feeling sparkly clean!

You will need:
Glass Spray bottle
Purification Essential Oil
Lemon Essential Oil
Distilled Water

Drop about 20 drops of each oil in the bottle and fill the rest of the way with distilled water.  So easy but SO wonderful! I use this in my bathroom for the counters, showers and tubs.  It took all of the grime out of the grout in the tile! It also worked great for my white sink as well. Do you have any cleaners made with essential oils that you love?! I'd love to hear them! Thanks for reading.

My Perfume Oil Blend DIY

As a woman we all can say we struggle with different issues from insecurity, courage, low self esteem, stress, etc. I love that I have found essential oils to help with all of these common women issues. And yea, I think as moms, we can multiply these all by ten sometimes right?! I have been one to struggle with crippling anxiety to the point of chest pains, insecurity and depression so I decided to make my own blend that I use daily as my perfume.

The oils that I used for my blend are Bergamot, Vetiver, Patchouli, Clove, and Ylang Ylang.  And I promise, if you don't like Patchouli, the other scents mask it quite a bit! You won't smell like 60's queen!

All you need to do is add 10 drops of each oil into your empty bottle (I used a 15ml bottle from an oil that had run out) then fill the rest of the way to the top with Young Living V-6 Vegetable Oil. I added a roller top for easy application! I got all of my information on the oils from The Essential Oils Desk Reference. Happy Mixing!
